TITLE:

SECUNIA ADVISORY ID:
SA38286

VERIFY ADVISORY:
http://secunia.com/advisories/38286/

DESCRIPTION:
A security issue has been reported in Samba, which can be exploited
by malicious, local users to disclose potentially sensitive
information and potentially gain escalated privileges.

The security issue is caused due to a race condition within the
"mount.cifs" utility, which can be exploited by replacing mountpoints
with symlinks.

Note: Successful privilege escalation may require that the
"mount.cifs" utility is suid root.

SOLUTION:
Fixed in the GIT repository.
