VULNERABILITY SUMMARY
A potential security vulnerability has been identified with HP-UX running CIFS Server (Samba).
This vulnerability may allow permit unauthorized access or local authenticated user to gain
elevated privileges.

HP-UX B.11.11 and B.11.23 running CIFS Server (Samba)

BACKGROUND

To determine if an HP-UX system has an affected version,
search the output of "swlist -a revision -l fileset" for one
of the filesets listed below. For affected systems verify
that the recommended action has been taken.

END AFFECTED VERSIONS

All versions of HP CIFS Server (Samba) up to and including A.02.02.01 are affected.

HP has provided the following software updates to resolve the issue:
HP-UX CIFS Server (Samba) version A.02.03
