TITLE:

VERIFY ADVISORY:

CRITICAL:
Moderately critical

IMPACT:
Cross Site Scripting, Manipulation of data, Exposure of system
information, Exposure of sensitive information

WHERE:
>From remote

SOFTWARE:
Revize CMS 4.x
http://secunia.com/product/6142/

DESCRIPTION:
Lostmon has reported some vulnerabilities in Revize CMS, which can be
exploited by malicious people to conduct cross-site scripting and SQL
injection attacks, and disclose potentially sensitive information.

1) Input passed to the "query" parameter in "query_results.jsp" isn't
properly sanitised before being used in a SQL query. This can be
exploited to manipulate SQL queries by injecting arbitrary SQL code.

2) The problem is that configuration data is stored in the file
"conf/revize.xml" inside the web root.

3) The problem is that certain information may be disclosed by
accessing "debug/".

4) Some input passed to "HTTPTranslatorServlet" isn't properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.

SOLUTION:
Edit the source code to ensure that input is properly sanitised and
ensure that files exposing sensitive information to users is not
placed accessible inside the web root.
