DESCRIPTION:
High-Tech Bridge has discovered multiple vulnerabilities in
dotProject, which can be exploited by malicious people to conduct
cross-site scripting and cross-site request forgery attacks.

1) The application allows users to perform certain actions via HTTP
requests without performing any validity checks to verify the
requests. This can be exploited to e.g. change an administrator's
password if a logged-in administrator visits a malicious web site.

2) Input passed to the "callback" parameter in index.php (when "m" is
set to "public" and "a" is set to "color_selector") is not properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.

3) Input passed to the "field" parameter in index.php (when "m" is
set to "public" and "a" is set to "date_format") is not properly
sanitised before being returned to the user. This can be exploited to
execute arbitrary HTML and script code in a user's browser session in
context of an affected site.

4) Input passed to the "company_name" parameter in index.php (when
"m" is set to "contacts", "a" is set to "addedit", and "company_id"
is set to "1") is not properly sanitised before being returned to the
user. This can be exploited to execute arbitrary HTML and script code
in a user's browser session in context of an affected site.

The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.1.7. Other versions
may also be affected.

SOLUTION:
The vendor has released a fix. However, the fix is not effective. No
official solution is currently available.
