DESCRIPTION:
Andrea Micalizzi has discovered two vulnerabilities in Novell
Privileged User Manager, which can be exploited by malicious people
to bypass certain security restrictions and compromise a vulnerable
system.
1) An error in the "ldapagnt" module due to not restricting access to
certain methods can be exploited to pass arbitrary arguments to the
Perl "eval()" function via HTTP POST requests sent to the web
interface.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability allows execution of
arbitrary code.
2) An error in the "auth" module due to not restricting access to
certain methods can be exploited to change administrative credentials
using the "modifyAccounts()" function via HTTP POST requests sent to
the web interface.
The vulnerabilities are confirmed in version 2.3.1. Other versions
may also be affected.
