DESCRIPTION:
Tielei Wang has discovered a vulnerability in GNU Gnash, which can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an integer overflow error within
the "GnashImage::size()" method (libbase/GnashImage.h) and can be
exploited to cause a heap-based buffer overflow by tricking a user
into opening a specially crafted SWF file.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 0.8.10. Prior versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Fixed in the GIT repository.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Tielei Wang, Georgia Tech Information Security Center via Secunia.
