DESCRIPTION:
Parvez Anwar has discovered a vulnerability in DVD Architect Pro and
DVD Architect Studio, which can be exploited by malicious people to
compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to the application loading libraries
(e.g. enc_mp2v.200 and CFHDDecoder.dll) in an insecure manner. This
can be exploited to load arbitrary libraries by tricking a user into
e.g. opening a DVD Project (DAR) file located on a remote WebDAV or
SMB share.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
The vulnerability is confirmed in the following products, other
versions may also be affected:
* DVD Architect Pro version 5.2 Build 133
* DVD Architect Studio version 5.0 Build 156
SOLUTION:
Do not open files from untrusted sources.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
