DESCRIPTION:
Parvez Anwar has discovered a vulnerability in PhotoLine, which can
be exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error when processing the
Quantization Default (QCD) marker segment. This can be exploited to
cause a heap-based buffer overflow via a specially crafted JPEG2000
(JP2) file.
Successful exploitation may allow execution of arbitrary code, but
requires tricking a user into opening a malicious file.
The vulnerability is confirmed in version 17.01. Other versions may
also be affected.
SOLUTION:
Update to version 17.02.
PROVIDED AND/OR DISCOVERED BY:
Parvez Anwar via Secunia.
