A physically proximate attacker placed between two Bluetooth devices could use this to subsequently impersonate one of the paired devices. Several security issues were discovered in the Linux kernel. Nmap is a utility for port scanning large networks, although it works fine for single hosts. Sometimes you need speed, other times you may need stealth. In some cases, bypassing firewalls may be required. Not to mention the fact that you may want to scan different protocols (UDP, TCP, ICMP, etc.). Nmap supports Vanilla TCP connect() scanning, TCP SYN (half open) scanning, TCP FIN, Xmas, or NULL (stealth) scanning, TCP ftp proxy (bounce attack) scanning, SYN/FIN scanning using IP fragments (bypasses some packet filters), TCP ACK and Window scanning, UDP raw ICMP port unreachable scanning, ICMP scanning (ping-sweep), TCP Ping scanning, Direct (non portmapper) RPC scanning, Remote OS Identification by TCP/IP Fingerprinting, and Reverse-ident scanning. Nmap also supports a number of performance and reliability features such as dynamic delay time calculations, packet timeout and retransmission, parallel port scanning, detection of down hosts via parallel pings.

Changes: Integrated over 4000 IPv4 OS fingerprints submitted since June 2020. Added 336 fingerprints, bringing the new total to 6036. Integrated over 2500 service/version detection fingerprints submitted since June 2020. The signature count went up 1.4% to 12089, including 9 new softmatches. Four new NSE scripts. Various other improvements and bug fixes.

GnuTLS is a secure communications library implementing the SSL and TLS protocols and technologies around them. It provides a simple C language application programming interface (API) to access the secure communications protocols, as well as APIs to parse and write X.509, PKCS #12, OpenPGP, and other required structures. It is intended to be portable and efficient with a focus on security and interoperability.

Changes: Added option to disable RSAES-PKCS1-v1_5. Added support for RIPEMD160 and PBES1-DES-SHA1 for backward compatibility with GCR. A couple of memory related issues have been fixed in RSA PKCS#1 v1.5 decryption error handling and deterministic ECDSA with earlier versions of GMP. Fixed a bug where building gnutls statically failed due to a duplicate definition of nettle_rsa_compute_root_tr().

This issue only affected Ubuntu 23.10. It was discovered that curl incorrectly handled memory when limiting the amount of headers when HTTP/2 server push is allowed. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause curl to consume resources, leading to a denial of service.

This paper will walk you through the proof-of-concept and technical details of exploitation for IOActive's recent NFC relay attack on the newest Tesla vehicle, the Model Y. To successfully carry out the attack, IOActive reverse-engineered the NFC protocol Tesla uses between the NFC card and the vehicle, and they then created custom firmware modifications that allowed a Proxmark RDV4.0 device to relay NFC communications over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi using the Proxmark's BlueShark module.

WebCatalog versions prior to 48.8 call the Electron shell.openExternal function without verifying that the URL is for an http or https resource. This vulnerability allows an attacker to potentially execute code through arbitrary protocols on the victims machine by having users sync pages with malicious URLs. The victim has to interact with the link, which can then enable an attacker to bypass security measures for malicious file delivery.
